A Chinese artist has been caught wearing 27 hazmat suits in Times Square in protest against the US’s failed response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The man’s actions were caught on camera when he boarded a New York City subway train wearing the suits on Monday afternoon.

In the photograph, the man can be seen wearing the outfits, which include a medical mask, a face shield, a white protective suit or a full hazmat suit.

The Chinese Embassy in Washington said the images were taken in Times Square.

The Chinese government has said it’s banning citizens from leaving the country unless they wear protective masks in public places.
